How to make it

  • 1. Lightly tenderize steaks with mallet.
  • 2. Mix all remaining ingredients in a shallow baking dish.
  • I used a 3 quart casserole dish.
  • 3. Marinade steaks in mixture for approximately 1 hour.
  • 4. After an hour prep a large skillet over medium high heat with 2 Tbs. of extra virgin olive oil.
  • 5. Pour half the marinade into skillet and bring to a low boil.
  • 6. Place half of your steaks in skillet and cook for approximately 3 to 5 minutes on each side. Be careful not to overcook. When done repeat steps 5 and 6.
  • Suggestions
  • The last four ingredients were a "seasoning blend" that I found at our local farmers market. There are a lot of good blends out there by McCormick or Lowry's. Don't be afraid to experiment. That is how I came up with this recipe.
  • I cooked mine in two halves because I did not want to crowd the meat but you can do it all at once if that is your preference.
  • I served mine over rice which absorbed the marinade and it was delicious!
