How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350F.
  • Whisk together flours, flaxseed, wheat germ, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt.
  • In a large bowl, cream butter and brown sugar together until fluffy.
  • Add vanilla and apple and blend to combine.
  • Wrap in plastic and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  • Gently roll out between layers of plastic or wax paper to a rectangle about 1/2" thick.
  • Cut into 30 squares and place onto a baking sheet lined with a Silpat or parchment.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes. Cool completely on baking sheet.
