How to make it

  • 1. Heat oil in 3-quart saucepan over medium-high heat. Add chopped garlic to oil and lightly brown.
  • 2. Place the cans of tomatoes including juice in food processor and blend or add to saucepan and use a hand processor. Blend until tomatoes are not longer whole and mixture is smooth.
  • 3. Stir tomatoes and add remaining ingredients into saucepan. Heat to boiling; and then reduce heat to low heat.
  • 4. Simmer uncovered for about 45 min., stirring occasionally.
  • 5. Use sauce immediately, or refrigerate up to 2 days,or freeze up to 1 month.
