How to make it

  • In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and both of the sugars until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs, vanilla, and the water
  • Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt
  • Gradually add to the creamed mixture
  • Mix well
  • Fold in the chocolate chips and the nuts
  • Press into three greased 15 x 10 inch baking pans
  • Bake at 375 F for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown
  • Cool on wire racks
  • Cut into bars
