Jewel Nut Bars

Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups flour shopping list
- 2/3 cup packed brown sugar, divded shopping list
- 3/4 cup cold butter shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- 1/2 tsp salt shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups mixed nuts shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups green and red candied cherries, halved shopping list
- 1 cup (6 oz.) semisweet chocolate chips shopping list
How to make it
- In a bowl, combine the flour and 1/3 cup brown sugar
- Cut in the butter until the mixtures resembles coarse crumbs
- Press into a lightly greased 13 x 9 inch baking pan
- Bake at 350 F for 15 minutes
- Meanwhile, in a mixing bowl, beat the egg
- Add the salt and the remaining brown sugar
- Stir in the nuts, cherries, and the chocolate chips
- Spoon evenly over the crust
- Bake at 350 F for 20 minutes
- Cool on a wire rack
