Basil Ice Cream

- 2 cups whole milk shopping list
- 1 cup fresh basil leaves shopping list
- 4 egg yolks shopping list
- 1 cup sugar shopping list
- 1 tsp pure vanilla shopping list
- Favorite chocolate sauce as desired shopping list
How to make it
- Bring milk and basil to a boil, remove from heat and let steep 15 minutes
- Strain and discard basil
- In a mixer beat yolks and sugar until creamy and thick
- Gradually add milk mixture, stirring constantly
- Return mixture to low heat and mix and stir until it coats the back of a metal spoon
- Do not allow to boil
- Strian mixture into a bowl, stir in vanilla
- Cool to room temperature
- Refrigerate till well cooled
- Process in an ice cream make per manufacturers insructions ad freeze till needed
