How to make it
- ~ For the Basic Buttercup Cake ~
- Grease and flour down 2 (9-inch) round baking pans...set them aside for now.
- Stir together the flour, baking powder and salt...set it aside for a bit.
- Beat sugar and butter at medium speed, scraping down the sides of the bowl occasionally, until creamy.
- Add 1 egg at a time...beat well after each addition.
- Add vanilla.
- Reduce speed to low.
- Add flour mixture alternately with milk, beating well after each addition...just until mixed.
- Divide the butter batter evenly between the prepared pans.
- Bake for about 34 minutes at 350 degrees,or until a pick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool on racks for 10 minutes.
- Loosen edge by running knife around inside edge.
- Carefully...remove cake from pans...cool completely.
- ~ For the Fill In ~
- Mix sugar,flour,salt...slowly stir in milk.
- Cook and stir till it boils and thickens..then cook 2 more minutes longer.
- Stir a bit of the hot mixture into eggs, then stir into remaining hot mixture.
- Stirring this all the while...Bring just to the boiling point, and add the vanilla,butter...stir...cool.
- ~ For The Topper ~
- Beat the butter until fluffy, about 30 seconds.
- Stop the machine and add the confectioner's sugar, milk, and vanilla.
- Blend on low until the sugar is incorporated, about 1 minute.
- Increase the speed and beat until light and fluffy, about 1 minute.
- If the frosting seems to stiff, you may need to add a bit more milk...other then that...you're pretty much ready to go... and frost your Buttercup cake,on the top and sides, after it has had the filling placed in between the two.
- ~ Now... you have two ways to go here: One...A tall glass of cold healthy calcuim enriched milk,or...Two...A cup of Steaming Hot Jet Fueled Caffeine Laden Coffee, cream and sugar,of course.~
