Chocolate Tequila Lime Sorbet

The frozen, dense chocolate sorbet adds to the creamy lime Margarita Tapioca (recipe posted separately) with the same lime-tequila flavors. The combination creates a dessert where your tastebuds "really" taste the fresh fruit; in fact, the fruit flavors pop with sweetness and color! Read more 35 minutes plus freezing time is how long this dessert takes. You will need an ice cream bowl or machine for this. The machine or bowl incorporates air into the sorbet. Ingredients
- 1/2 pound semi-sweet chocolate chipped into small pieces shopping list
- 1/2 c. cocoa powder shopping list
- 1/4 t. salt shopping list
- 1 1/2 c. water shopping list
- 1/2 c. tequila shopping list
- 2 t. lime juice shopping list
- 2/3 c. plus 3 T. sugar shopping list
How to make it
- Break up the chocolate into small pieces so that it will melt more easily. Place it in a bowl with the cocoa powder and salt. Put the water, tequila and sugar in a saucepan and bring to a boil to melt the sugar and cook off a little of the alcohol in the tequila. Pour the boiling mixture over the chocolate and stir to melt the chocolate completely. Coo the mixture and then add the lime juice. Freeze in an ice cream machine according to the manufacturer's directions.
