How to make it

  • Blend together the butter and sugar in a large bowl
  • Add the eggs, one at a time
  • Beat in the sour cream and the vanilla
  • Set aside
  • Combine the flour, baking soda, and baking powder in a separate bowl
  • Blend thoroughly
  • Gradually add the flour mixture into the butter mixture
  • Mix well
  • The dough should be fairly thick
  • Roll out on a floured surface
  • Using a large cookie cutter, cut out the cookies
  • Arrange on an ungreased baking sheet
  • Sprinkle with the nuts and raisins, if desired
  • Bake at 350 F for 15 to 18 minutes
