How to make it

  • Heat the oven to 350 F
  • In a large bowl, beat the sugar, butter, milk, almond extract, and the egg using an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth.
  • Stir in the flour, cocoa, and baking soda.
  • Stir in the remaining ingredients
  • Drop the dough by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets about 2 inches apart
  • Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until almost no indentation remains when touched in the center and the surface is no longer shiny
  • Immediately remove from the cookie sheets to cooling racks
