Double-chocolate Cherry Cookies

- 1 1/4 cups sugar shopping list
- 1 cup butter or margarine, softened shopping list
- 1/4 cup milk shopping list
- 1/4 tsp almond extract shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- 1 3/4 cups flour shopping list
- 1/3 cup unsweetened baking cocoa shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda shopping list
- 1 cup quick cooking oats shopping list
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips shopping list
- 1 cup dried cherries shopping list
How to make it
- Heat the oven to 350 F
- In a large bowl, beat the sugar, butter, milk, almond extract, and the egg using an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth.
- Stir in the flour, cocoa, and baking soda.
- Stir in the remaining ingredients
- Drop the dough by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets about 2 inches apart
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until almost no indentation remains when touched in the center and the surface is no longer shiny
- Immediately remove from the cookie sheets to cooling racks
