Shrimp Etouffee Recipe
This is a wonderful Cajun shrimp dish. Great served over rice along with some roll to mop up the sauce.

Ingredients
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups celery, chopped
  • 1/2 cup bell pepper, diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 pounds shrimp, cleaned
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • salt and black pepper to taste

Directions
  1. Melt margarine in pan and add vegetables. Saute until onion is wilted. Add shrimp and simmer 20 minutes. Dissolve cornstarch in water and add to shrimp. Simmer another 20 minutes. Salt and pepper to taste and serve over hot cooked rice.

Wow...I love that "mop up the sauce" comment...that's what drew me to this recipe ! lol ! Anything you have to "mop up" HAS to be good. Also, I'm from Louisiana so just the word "etoffee" is awesome in itself....
