Chocolate-chunk Platter Cookies

- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature shopping list
- 1 pkg (8 oz.) cream cheese shopping list
- 1 cup packed brown sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar shopping list
- 2 large eggs, at room temperature shopping list
- 2 1/3 cups flour shopping list
- 1 tsp baking soda shopping list
- 1/4 tsp salt shopping list
- 1 pkg (12 oz.) semisweet chocolate chunks shopping list
- 1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts or pecans shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat the oven to 375 F
- Lightly grease two 12-inch pizza pans
- In a large bowl using an electric mixer, cream the butter, cream cheese, brown sugar, and granulated usgar.
- Add the eggs
- Beat at high speed until fluffy
- In another bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda, and salt
- Add to the creamed mixture
- Mix until the dough is stiff
- Stir in the chocolate chunks and walnuts
- Divide the dough in half
- Press each half evenly into a prepared pan
- Press the top down with a fork dipped in water.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until light brown around the edges and firm in the center
- Cool in the pan on a wire rack
