How to make it

  • Beat sugar, butter, shortening and vanilla together. Add cold evaporated milk slowly, no more than an couple of table spoons at a time. Pause long enough between additions to allow the liquid to "disappear".
  • This is probably my favorite frosting.
  • Note: I keep a can of evaporated milk in the refrigerator all the time so I can make this up quickly if I need to.
