  • As it happened one day to Arthur Cameron husband of Mary. She saw Arthur coming over the fields with nothing to show for his hunting. She loved him and did'nt want him to feel bad that he had come home empty handed. She quickly cut up some strong cheese in a pot near the fire, added some bacon drippings and a pint of ale. When Arthur arrived home she gave him a kiss on the cheek and served him this wonderful sauce on freshly toasted bread. This recipe was so good that it was not long before it was used all over England,Scotland and Ireland.
