Kathy's Apple Pie Filling

- 6 c thinly sliced,pared tart cooking apples(2 lbs) shopping list
- 1 c sugar-1/2 white,1/2 brown shopping list
- 1 tsp cinnamon shopping list
- pinch of nutmeg shopping list
- dash of salt shopping list
- 2TB butter shopping list
- 2 TB flour shopping list
- 1 TB lemon juice shopping list
How to make it
- In small bowl,combine sugar,cinnamon,f;our and salt ,mix well. Add apples to large bowl,tossing lightly to combine,add lemon juice. Turn into pastry lined pie plate,mounding high in center. Dot with butter. Top with top crust,fold edges under bottom crust. Make slits near center of pie for steam to escape.Crimp edges of pie.Brush with milk and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
- Bake 45-50 mins or till apples are tender and crust golden brown. Cool partially on wire rack. Serve warm or room temperature with vanilla ice cream.
