This is from my favorite person in Lousiana, Lavette. She makes this with her fresh figs. She sent a container home with my son and I one year -- and that was all we ate the whole way home to Arizona!! When we got to the last piece -- there was almost a fight! Ingredients
- 5 eggs shopping list
- 1 jar figs shopping list
- 2 cups sugar shopping list
- 1 cup dark brown syrup (any type Karo, molasses, etc.) shopping list
- 7-8 cups flour, unsifted shopping list
- 1 cup Crisco (Crisco makes it fluffy, oil will not work) shopping list
How to make it
- Grease and flour 9x13 pan. Bake until done. Do not pick test for doneness, after cake has browned, pat the center to tell.
