Buta Teriyaki (Pork On Skewers)

- 1/2 cup mirin shopping list
- 1/4 cup sake shopping list
- 1/4 cup shoyu shopping list
- 2 tbsp sugar shopping list
- 2 pounds pork tenderloin, cleaned and cut into 1/4 inch pieces shopping list
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated shopping list
- 1 cup onion minced shopping list
How to make it
- Teriyaki Sauce:
- over medium heat on the stove, combine the mirin and the sake for 5 minutes, then add the shoyu (which is dark soy sauce) and the sugar; stir to dissolve the sugar
- cook over low heat for 25 minutes; coo before using
- combine ALL the remaining ingredients with the teriyaki sauce and let marinate for 1 hour
- thread the pork onto 4 skewers, reserving the marinade
- Grill (or broil) for 3 minutes on each side, basting frequently with the marinade
- serve immediately with plain white rice
