Ingredients

How to make it

  • In a small mixing bowl, beat together cream cheese, 2 tbsp of preserves, 1 tsp of vanilla until fluffy.
  • Stir in nuts, set aside.
  • Cut bread into 10 to 12, 1-1/2" thick slices; slice a pocket in top of each one, (not center, but top where crust is.)
  • Fill each pocket with about 1-1/2 tbsp of cheese mixture.
  • Beat together eggs, whipping cream, nutmeg and 1/2 tsp of vanilla.
  • Using tongs, dip filled bread slices into egg mixture, be careful not to squeeze out filling.
  • Cook lightly on greased griddle over medium heat about 2 minutes on each side, until golden brown. Keep warm in 300 degree oven while cooking remaining slices.
  • Meanwhile, in small saucepan heat together the remaining preserves and orange juice.
  • To serve, drizzle the preserve mixture over hot French Toast. If desired, top with raspberries.
