Sugar-crusted French Toast

- 2 eggs shopping list
- 2/3 cup milk shopping list
- 2 tbsp sugar shopping list
- 1 tsp vanilla shopping list
- 6 - 1' thick slices of French bread shopping list
- 2 tbsp margarine or butter shopping list
- 1 tbsp margarine or butter shopping list
- 2 tbsp sugar shopping list
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon shopping list
How to make it
- In a small bowl, beat together eggs, milk, 2 tbsp sugar and vanilla.
- Place bread in a 2-quart baking dish.
- Pour egg mixture over bread, turn to coat.
- Refrigerate 20 to 30 minutes or until egg is absorbed.
- In large skillet or griddle, melt 2 tbsp margarine or butter over medium heat.
- Cook bread on both sides about 2 to 3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Transfer to baking sheet, brush tops of bread with 1 tbsp of melted margarine or butter. Combine 2 tbsp sugar adn the cinnamon, sprinkle on bread slices.
- Broil 4 inches from heat for 1-1/2 to 2 minutes, just until sugar is carmalized.
