How to make it

  • Sieve the gram flour into a bowl and add ajwain,chilli powder and salt. See Photo
  • Dribble in hot oil and then gradually add water.
  • Mix to a stiff paste (Do not be tempted to add more water this is meant to be a stiff paste) See Photo
  • Heat the oil over a medium flame ( test it with a small bit of dough first)
  • Fill the sev machine with a portion of dough. See Photo
  • Holding the utensil over the hot oil, force the mixture through the holes by turning the handle. See Photo
  • As soon as noodles fall, slowly move the machine in a circular motion so that they do not stick together. See Photo
  • Fry both sides until crisp and lightly browned.
  • Remove and drain on a paper towel.Break into pieces
  • Store in an air-tight container.
  • Serve sev as a snack.
