How to make it

  • Tear bread into small pieces; place in a medium bowl.
  • Add egg white, onion, garlic, Italian seasoning and salt; mix well.
  • Add turkey; mix to combine.
  • Cover and chill while preparing sauce.
  • In a blender container or food processor, combine roasted peppers, chicken broth, garlic and Italian seasoning; process until smooth.
  • Pour into medium saucepan; bring to a simmer over medium heat. Meanwhile, form turkey mixture into 12 (1-1/2-inch) meatballs; drop into simmering sauce.
  • Cover and simmer 20 minutes, uncover and simmer until sauce has thickened.
  • Broil cut sides of hot dog buns until golden, spread one side of each bun with 1 cheese wedge.
  • Top each with 3 meatballs and 3 tablespoons sauce. Serve immediately.
