How to make it

  • 1. mix water, orange juice and sugar in large sauce pan and bring to a boil.
  • 2. While mixture is heating peel and core pear. Dice into cubes.
  • 3. Once liquid is boiling, add cranberries, pears, orange zest. honey, ginger and cinnamon.
  • 4. Bring to a second boil
  • 5. Reduce heat and simmer partially covered, stirring occasionally for 10 minutes until berries start to pop.
  • 6. Transfer mixture to heat proof bowl and allow to cool to room temperature. Sauce will thicken as it cools
  • 7. Once room temperature cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

    I had a similar recipe for a cranberry-pear sauce, but was unable to find it. This recipe comes very close to that recipe. Mixed up a batch this evening - smells and looks wonderful. Can't wait to taste it on Thanksgiving day.
