How to make it

  • Melt butter in a heavy saucepan. Add sugar; bring to a boil and boil for 3 minutes. Add slivered almonds. Keep stirring and boiling until medium brown. Pour out on cookie sheet or something like that. Wait about 2 minutes. Then sprinkle on chocolate chips-generallly you don't need but half a package-on top of the hot candy, and spread with a spatula while candy is still hot. Now sprinkle the crushed sliced almonds all over. When candy gets hard, break with the point of a knife or an ice pick.
