Stovetop "baked" Beans

- (2) 28 oz. cans of your favorite baked beans (Bush's, B&M, etc.) shopping list
- 1 medium yellow onion, finely diced shopping list
- 2 tablespoons butter shopping list
- 1 cup tomato ketchup shopping list
- 2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce shopping list
- 1 cup light brown sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup molasses shopping list
- 3 tablespoons prepared yellow mustard shopping list
- Dash hot sauce (Tabasco, Crystal, etc.) shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon granulated garlic shopping list
How to make it
- Melt butter in dutch oven over medium heat. Add diced onions and cook until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Add canned beans and mix well. Add remaining ingredients, stir well, and cook over medium heat until sugars are dissolved and everything is combined.
- Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 1 hour or until beans reach desired thickness. Stir occasionally, making sure beans don't scorch in bottom of pot.
- For a terrific twist, you can add 1 lb. cooked ground turkey or ground beef, seasoned well with salt, pepper, granulated garlic, and granulated garlic.
