How to make it

  • Melt butter in dutch oven over medium heat. Add diced onions and cook until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
  • Add canned beans and mix well. Add remaining ingredients, stir well, and cook over medium heat until sugars are dissolved and everything is combined.
  • Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 1 hour or until beans reach desired thickness. Stir occasionally, making sure beans don't scorch in bottom of pot.
  • For a terrific twist, you can add 1 lb. cooked ground turkey or ground beef, seasoned well with salt, pepper, granulated garlic, and granulated garlic.

    I love this idea!!! and Bush's makes a "Chile Magic" in a can and all needed is a can of tomatoes and meat (no meat is flavorful too!!) thanks
