How to make it

  • In a large skillet, on medium to medium to high heat saute onions until tender and then add beef to brown. Once juices run clear and there is no red left in the meat, add frozen peas and carrots and cook until thawed. Add ketchup, hot sauce and Worcestershire sauce. Reduce heat and let simmer. If liquids reduce too quickly, add an additional 2 tbsp Worcestershire and 1/4-1/2 cup ketchup.
  • In the meantime, prepare mashed potatoes as per directions. If using prepared, heat thoroughly.
  • Preheat oven to 350 and in a baking dish add meat mixture, and cover with mashed potatoes. Top with cheddar cheese and bake until cheese is melted and sauce is bubbling.
