Chocolate Cobbler

- 1 1/2 cups sugar-divided shopping list
- 1 cup all purpose flour shopping list
- 7 tablespoons cocoa-divided shopping list
- 2 teaspoons baking powder shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/2 cup milk shopping list
- 1/3 cup butter-melted shopping list
- 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract shopping list
- 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups hot water shopping list
- vanilla ice cream shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a medium mixing bowl, stir together 3/4 cup sugar, flour, 3 tablespoons cocoa, baking powder, and salt.
- Stir in milk, butter, and vanilla. Mix unitl smooth.
- Pour into on ungreased 8" glass baking dish.
- Stir together remaining 1/2 cup sugar, brown sugar, and remaining 4 tablespoons cocoa. Sprinkle mixture over batter. DO NOT STIR.
- Pour hot water over top. DO NOT STIR.
- Bake for 35 to 40 or until center is almost set. Let stand for 15 minutes.
- Spoon into individual dessert dishes while still warm. Cobbler makes its own chocolate sauce in the bottom of pan. Spoon sauce over each serving.
- Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
- Suggestion:
- Add 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips and chopped pecans to batter. Bake as directed.
