Real New England Fish Chowder

- 3-4 cups fresh potatos, cut in 3/4 inch pieces shopping list
- 1 onion diced (about 3/4 cup) shopping list
- 3-4 bay leaves shopping list
- 1 can condensed milk shopping list
- 1 and a half lbs white fish (haddock, hake cod) cut into bitesize pieces shopping list
- 2 tbs butter shopping list
- salt and pepper to taste shopping list
How to make it
- in a 2 qt sauce pan, cook potatos and onions with the bay leaves until just tender
- add the butter and fish, and cook covered for about 10 mins on medium heat
- add the milk, and bring the temp back up to almost a boil turn off heat,
- cover and let set for a while
- serve with crackers and if you want it thickened, crumble a few saltines into it.
