How to make it

  • Shrimps are easy available in super market which are cleaned n parboiled in advance ... but i prefer to buy fresh from the fish market clean it n marinate it with 1 tsp of salt / tumeric / red chilly powder / garam masala n 3 tbs[ of lemon juice till I prepare other ingredients....
  • So incase u do wanna get into such detail work ... Just buy it from supermarket n marinate the shrimps
  • In a deep pan heat oil add 1st 8 dry whole spices .... stir it for a while then add roughly chopped spring onions n saute it with the spice for 2 mins .... when onions become soft add ginger n garlic n the green chilly stir in well now add tomatoes cook till tomatoes become soft or melt it will nearly 2 min... the stove flame should be medium slow .... now add the marinated shrimps n cook for minimum 3 mins ... As fish always cooks very quickly.... stir all the ingredients well n add the rice with 2 cups of water n slow the flame of the stove ... stir one more time add salt to taste n close the lid ....
  • In 8-10 min rice will be ready it was soaked earlier it wont take too much time to cook
  • Once done close the stove n donot open the lid at once as the steam will cook the rice prefectly ... after 10 mins ready to serve garnish with what ever greens available in the kitchen or as above mentioned
  • Serve it with marinate spring onions or onion pickle ( pls refer my onion pickle recipe ) ....

  • Tip : U can even add green peas / carrots / potatoes ... some people add chicken stock or vegetable stock to cook the rice .... if u are using it donot add salt as the ready made stocks have lot of salt
