Never Fail Brownies

I found this in the old cook book I found. I like the addition of cherries. The recipe says that the cherries keep the brownies from drying out.
Ingredients
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 1 Cup sugar shopping list
- 2 Squares Baker's chocolate shopping list
- 1/2 Cup shortening or unsalted butter shopping list
- 1 tsp vanilla shopping list
- 1 Cup flour shopping list
- 1 tsp Salt shopping list
- 1 tsp baking powder shopping list
- 2/3 Cup nuts shopping list
- 8 maraschino cherries ( chopped) shopping list
How to make it
- Beat eggs.
- Add sugar and beat well.
- Melt chocolate with shortening/butter.
- Mix sugar and chocolate mixtures and vanilla.
- Add Flour, salt, and baking powder.
- Add nuts and cherries.
- Mix well.
- Bake in 8X8 pan for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
