Chocolate Tray Cake

- 125ml oil shopping list
- 125g butter shopping list
- 125ml cocoa shopping list
- 250ml water shopping list
- 400g light brown sugar shopping list
- 300g flour shopping list
- 1tsp bicarbonate of soda shopping list
- Pinch salt shopping list
- 125ml Plain yoghurt shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 5ml vanilla shopping list
- Icing: shopping list
- 200g icing sugar shopping list
- 2Tsp cocoa powder shopping list
- 75g butter – softened shopping list
- 2Tsp Plain yoghurt shopping list
- 5ml vanilla shopping list
- 200g dark chocolate shopping list
How to make it
- CAKE:
- • Bring the Oil, Butter, Cocoa and Water to the boil in a pan.
- • Mix the Sugar, Flour, Bicarb and Salt together in a bowl.
- • Mix the Yoghurt, Eggs and Vanilla together and then add everything to the bowl and stir well.
- • Place in a greased and lined baking tin measuring 22x32cm.
- • Bake at 180C for 27 minutes
- ICING:
- • Mix everything except the Chocolate together in a bowl and ice the cake.
- • Melt the Dark Chocolate in the top of a double boiler and drizzle over the cooled iced cake for that third dimension of Chocolate texture.
- NOTE:
- Passion fruit Version
- • Leave out the 125g Cocoa and add 125g Flour to the original Flour quantity.
- • Add 3Tbsp Granadilla (Passion fruit) pulp to the Yoghurt or use Passion fruit Yoghurt.
- • Leave out the Cocoa Powder in the Icing and stir in 3Tbsp Passion fruit Pulp
- You can use this recipe for tasty chocolate brownies just
- Leave water out for Chocolate Brownies!!!!!
