How to make it

  • Butter a 9×9x2 pan
  • Bottom Layer

  • Put first 4 ingredients in double boiler
  • Cook over boiling water until well blended
  • Add egg and cook 5 minutes, stirring
  • Stir in next 3 ingredients
  • Press into pan
  • Chill 15 minutes
  • Middle Layer

  • Cream butter until fluffy
  • Beat in custard powder and milk
  • Beat in icing sugar until smooth
  • Spread over first layer
  • Chill at least 15 minutes
  • Top Layer

  • Melt chocolate and butter over low heat
  • Spread over second layer
  • Chill until firm
  • Cut in squares and keep refrigerated or frozen
