Mac And Cheese

- 4 tbsp of bacon (crumble in bag) shopping list
- 5 cups pasta (uncooked) shopping list
- 1/2 chopped onion (vidalia) shopping list
- 1 tsp garlic, pureed shopping list
- 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese (sharp works well) shopping list
- 2 tablespoons butter shopping list
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour shopping list
- 2 cups milk shopping list
- 1 tsp of Dijon mustard shopping list
- 1/2 tsp of cayenne pepper shopping list
- salt and pepper to taste shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- In a large pot with boiling water cook pasta until your liking then drain
- In a frying pan saute the chopped onion with the bacon Take off heat and set aside
- In a medium saucepan melt the butter over low heat. Once melted add the flour and stir constantly for 2 minutes. Gradually add milk stirring until thickened. Add the garlic/cayenne and mustard then the cheese (stir until melted)
- Combine cooked pasta, onion/bacon and sauce and place in 9x13 dish. Add the last cup of grated Cheddar cheese to top of mixture.
- Bake uncovered in preheated oven until cheese on top is melted and brown
