Dark Chocolate Cake

- 2 cups flour shopping list
- 2 cups castor sugar shopping list
- pinch of salt shopping list
- 1 tsp bicarb of soda shopping list
- 125g butter shopping list
- 1 cup water shopping list
- 1/2 cup oil shopping list
- 1/2 cup coco powder shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 1/2 cup buttermilk shopping list
- Icing: shopping list
- 5 Tbsp butter shopping list
- 2 Tbsp coco (sifted) shopping list
- 3 Tbsp buttermilk shopping list
- 1 tsp vanilla essence shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups icing sugar shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 180 degrees.
- Grease baking tray.
- Sift flour, caster sugar, salt and bicarb, in a large bowl.
- Heat butter, water oil and coco, in a medium sized pot. Bring to the boil. Allow to cool slightly.
- Pour over flour mixture and mix lightly.
- Whisk eggs and buttermilk together in a small bowl. Add to the mixture and fold together lightly.
- Pour batter into tray, and back at 180* for 30 min.
- Icing:
- Bring to the boil. Pour over cooled cake.
- Add grated chocolate or cherries.
- Eat and Enjoy
