Chocolate Caramel Slice

- 1 cup plain flour, sifted shopping list
- 1/2 cup brown sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup desiccated coconut shopping list
- 125g butter, melted shopping list
- 400g can sweetened condensed milk shopping list
- 2 tablespoons golden syrup shopping list
- 60g butter, melted shopping list
- 150g cooking chocolate buds shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 180°C
- Line a 3cm deep, 28 x 18cm (or nearest) baking pan.
- Combine flour, sugar, coconut and 125g butter in a bowl. Mix well.
- Press into prepared pan and bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until light golden.
- Remove from oven and leave to cool.
- Combine condensed milk, golden syrup and 60g butter in a saucepan over medium heat and whisk for 8 minutes or until golden.
- Pour over cooked base.
- Bake for 12 minutes or until firm and leave to cool completely.
- Refrigerate for 3 to 4 hours, or until set.
- Place chocolate into a heat-proof bowl over a saucepan of simmering water.
- Stir until melted and pour over caramel.
- Refrigerate to set.
- Cut into squares to serve.
- Admire your work and do a little dance.
