Super Easy Upside Down Apple Cake

- 2 med-large apples shopping list
- 1/2 stick margarine shopping list
- 1/4 c brown sugar shopping list
- 1/2 t cinnamon shopping list
- 1/2 t vanilla shopping list
- Handful of chopped pecans or walnuts (optional) shopping list
- Batter: shopping list
- 1 c baking mix shopping list
- 1/4 c sugar shopping list
- 1/2 t cinnamon shopping list
- 1/4 t nutmeg shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- 1/2 c milk shopping list
- 1/2 t vanilla shopping list
How to make it
- Heat oven to 325
- Melt margarine in a 7" cast iron skillet over med-low heat.
- Stir in cinnamon and vanilla.
- Stir in brown sugar and reduce heat to low.
- Peel, core and slice apples.
- Toss nuts (if using) into skillet.
- Arrange apple slices curve side down in a circle pattern in skillet.
- If you have any slices that won't fit, chop in small pieces and add to batter.
- Mix batter ingredients. You may have to add more milk to attain batter
- consistency.
- Pour over apples and place pan in oven.
- Bake 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream if desired.
