Tortellini With Ham & Mushrooms

I brought this recipe back from Italy...I served 2 yrs there in the Army back in the 80's, once I tried this I had to have it..."i gained a lot of weight while I was there....lol..I usually make this with a homemade Alfredo sauce, (Authentic Bechamel Sauce is posted) If you don't want to take the time to make the Alfredo Sauce, this is the quick way. Ingredients
- 1 package frozen tortellini ( cheese or meat) I prefer the meat shopping list
- 2 - 10 oz. jar mushroom alfredo sauce shopping list
- 1 small ham steak cut into 1/2" cubes shopping list
- 1 large portabella mushroom diced to bite sized pieces shopping list
How to make it
- In a large pot bring water to boil according to package direction on tortellini
- While water is coming to boil dice the ham and mushrooms
- in a small sauce pan pour in alfredo sauce and mix in ham and mushrooms and heat on low
- when tortellini is done drain
- mix in sauce mixture and heat on low until it is heated through
- serve with salad and bread of your choice
