How to make it

  • 1. Season duck breast with salt and pepper. Place the duck, fruit, and onion in a crock pot. Pour thawed orange juice over all. Cover; cook on low for 8-10 hours.
  • 2. Discard fruit and onion. Strain and thicken sauce with cornstarch, if desired. Pour sauce over duck breast to serve.

    A marital trip down the isle of two countries( visualization of an orange blossom bridal bouquet would be in order here,I would think) brought this wonderful dish to life...Florence,and,France.
    Rest assured...Henry II would not be allowed to sit in Diane de Poitiers lap at his wifes Catherine de' Medici table as her fragrant florentine cuisine of paparo melarancia was placed before him...After all,I do believe sophisticated dining etiquette can only be stretched so far :o)
    Just as he wished to replace the power from Catherine to too did he take claim and rename...canard a l'orange.
    Thank-you for this wonderful aiguillettes of mallard,a dish fit for a King and Queen...and one mistress in between ...well,perhaps not on this particular day anyway :o)
    The distance of 'one year' to see another of your recipes being bequeath upon this royal court is ruled entirely unacceptable...
