Quick, simple and tasty early summer pesto delight! The garlic scape is the curly flowering portion of a garlic plant. Harvest them in the early summer, so the plant can focus on sending its nutrients to the garlic bulb you are so anxiously waiting for at the end of the season. Ingredients
- 1 cup garlic Scapes Chopped int 1 inch pieces shopping list
- 1/2 cup Parmessan cheese shopping list
- 1/3 cup walnut pieces toasted shopping list
- 10 basil leaves (med-large size) shopping list
- 1/2 cup olive oil shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt shopping list
How to make it
- Wash and chop the garlic scapes, disregarding the flower portion
- Put all ingredients in your food chopper/processor and blend
- Use a rubber spatula to wipe ingredients off the sides of the mixer, check for consistency and add more oil as necessary. I added another 1/8 cup to my batch.
