Ingredients

How to make it

  • Heat the oil in a skillet over Medium-High heat.
  • Place the beans & chilies in a food processor and process until they have the consistency of mashed potatoes (semi-chunky). If using canned, add the liquid as well.
  • Remove from processor and mix with bread crumbs, chili powder, and egg. Mixture should be similar to a dough at this point. If too wet, add bread crumbs a 1/4 cup at a time until desired consistency is reached.
  • Roll into 6 even balls, and gently press balls into small bowl with Cornmeal. Flip and repeat. This should give you a burger shaped patty coated with cornmeal on both sides.
  • Place in oil and fry for 5-10 minutes per side.
  • Top with any Tex-Mex style condiments!
  • (Be careful, inside of burger will be extremely hot for a couple minutes after cooking)
