Smoked Chicken Pasta

- 1 tray 250 g mushrooms shopping list
- 1/2 green pepper, thinly sliced shopping list
- 1/2 red pepper thinly sliced. shopping list
- 2 smoked chicken breasts (cut in 4cm pieces, rinse with warm water) shopping list
- 3 tbsp ginger and garlic paste shopping list
- 3 green chillies (chopped) (optional) shopping list
- white sauce shopping list
- 100g butter shopping list
- 1/2 cup flour shopping list
- 4 cups (1 litre) milk shopping list
- pepper to taste shopping list
- 1/2 cup cheese shopping list
- 250ml fresh cream (optional) shopping list
How to make it
- 1. Sautee sliced peppers in butter until soft, add sliced mushrooms to peppers. Remove once mushrooms are golden. Keep aside
- 2. Sautee chicken in a pan with butter.
- Add ginger and garlic.
- Add green chillies if desired.
- Make a white sauce by melting butter in a pot. Stir in flour for 1 minute. Gradually stir in milk until mixture is smooth and thickened. (Don’t make too thick, sauce thickens when it stands) Season to taste, add cheese and stir until melted.
- **Add 250ml fresh cream to make a rich sauce.
- In a casserole, combine Vegetables, chicken and white sauce.
- Top with Mozzarella/Cheddar cheese
- **Add salt but not too much, smoked chicken is very salty!
- Bake in oven at 180C to melt cheese until golden
