More Than Ginger Spice Cookies

- 3 oz non-hydrogenated shortening shopping list
- Β½ cup packed brown sugar shopping list
- ΒΌ cup granulated sugar shopping list
- ΒΌ cup molasses shopping list
- 1 tsp vinegar shopping list
- 1 tsp vanilla shopping list
- 2 Β½ tbsp strong brewed tea, cooled shopping list
- 1 tbsp ground ginger shopping list
- ΒΌ tsp cardamom shopping list
- Β½ tsp cinnamon shopping list
- Pinch allspice shopping list
- pinch ground cloves shopping list
- pinch black pepper shopping list
- pinch white pepper shopping list
- 1 ΒΌ cups whole wheat flour shopping list
- 1 tsp baking soda shopping list
- Β½ cup quick oats (not instant) shopping list
- Β½ cup raisins shopping list
- 3 oz chopped candied ginger shopping list
How to make it
- In a large bowl, cream together the shortening, sugars, molasses, vinegar, vanilla and tea.
- Beat in all the spices until well blended, then mix in the flour and baking soda.
- Fold in the oats, raisins and ginger.
- Cover and chill 1 hour (up to overnight), or wrap in plastic, then foil, and freeze up to 4 months.
- Preheat the oven to 350Β°F.
- Bake 11 to 14 minutes.
- Cool 2 minutes on baking sheets, then transfer to cooling racks to cool completely.
