Cranapple Ginger Brew

- 1 gallon fresh apple cider(don't get the pasteurized stuff :) shopping list
- 1lb fresh cranberries shopping list
- 2-3 pieces(about 1 inch each) candied ginger shopping list
- 2 lemons shopping list
- 1 cinnamon stick shopping list
- about 1/2t fresh grated nutmeg shopping list
- For serving shopping list
- ginger ale shopping list
- ginger beer(with or without alcohol) shopping list
- or ginger wine shopping list
How to make it
- Put cider, cranberries, ginger, cinnamon stick, nutmeg and juice from the lemons in slow cooker.
- Cook on low several hours, stirring once in a while, to blend and concentrate flavors.
- To serve, ladle into mugs or heat safe glasses to about 3/4 full then top off with room temperature ginger ale, beer or wine.
- The cranberries get very soft, skins and all, and are a fun burst of tart in the otherwise sweet drink, so add some to each glass! :)
