How to make it
- Heat milk to just a boil and stir in grits. Reduce heat and cover for 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat and add putter, salt, cayenne and cheese.
- Use a big wooden spoon to start mixing all ingredients and add beaten eggs and stir until fully mixed.
- Pour into well-buttered, deep casserole dish and bake, uncovered for 1 hr 10 min, or until well-puffed and golden brown.
