Marinara Sauce

- 1 can of SAN MARZANO tomatoes (or any, really, but these taste best imho) shopping list
- 1-2 tsp of italian seasoning mix (to taste) shopping list
- salt and pepper to taste shopping list
- 2 tsp of garlic powder shopping list
- 2 tsp of onion powder shopping list
- 2 tbsp butter or acceptable substitute shopping list
- 2 tbsp sugar IF NEEDED shopping list
How to make it
- Dump everything unceremoniously into a pot that will fit this stuff. It reduces by about 1/4 as it cooks.
- Heat over max heat until it starts to bubble and boil.
- Mash with a potato masher (careful not to burn yoself) until a chunky consistency (or if you're FANCY and own a hand blender, you can use this too)
- Reduce heat to medium-low and let simmer until everything smells delicious - taste and see if it needs to be sweeter (marinara should be sweet) or needs more salt or anything.
- This shit can cook til you're ready to eat. I serve over wholewheat pasta and topped with my paleo meatballs (recipe also on here).
