How to make it

  • In a pot cook the bacon over medium heat
  • When the bacon is almost crisp, add the garlic cloves and onions- cook 3-4 minutes
  • Add the sliced mushrooms and the water
  • Bring to a boil and reduce to a simmer. Cook for 30 minutes.
  • Either with an immersion blender or in batches in a blender - puree the contents of the pot. It shouldn't be smooth.
  • Return to the pot and add the cup of cream or condensed milk. Mix well.
  • Season to taste with salt and pepper.
  • Serve with a sprinkle of bacon bits
