- Dough: shopping list
- 1 cup warm water shopping list
- 1 pkg.dry yeast shopping list
- 1/4 cup sugar shopping list
- 3/4 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- 1 tablespoon butter shopping list
- 3 1/4 cups flour shopping list
- Filling: shopping list
- 2 pounds hamburger shopping list
- 2 onions,finely chopped shopping list
- 4 cups shredded cabbage shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon Tabasco sauce shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper shopping list
- 1/2 cup water shopping list
How to make it
- For the dough; dissolve yeast in water and add sugar and salt.
- Let set for 5 minutes.
- Add egg, butter and stir in flour. Mix well.
- Cover and refrigerate for 4 hours.
- Divide dough in half, and press half in a greased 9x13 inch pan.
- For the filling; Brown the hamburger and onion.
- Add the remaining ingredients, stirring well, then simmer covered for 15-20 minutes.
- Cool, then spoon the meat and cabbage mixture on the dough in the pan.
- Pat or roll the remaining half of dough on lightly floured surface into a 9x13 rectangle and place on top of the meat filling.
- Bake 20-25 minutes at 350 degrees until nicely browned.
- Remove and brush the top with melted butter.
- Cut into squares and serve with ketchup if desired.
