- 3 Cups Ripe Pears...Anjou,and Bartlett are nice...peeled and sliced thinly shopping list
- 3/4 Cups...Plus two Tablespoons Sugar...divided shopping list
- 2 Tablespoons Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon Ginger shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg...Freshly grated...Two,Two,Two spices in one...Mace being the other surrounding the seed called Nutmeg...My mind tells me that when a whole nutmeg is grated down to half,then dusted off, that I am visualizing an anatomy version of the human brain in miniature form lying in the palm of my hand...but then,I could just be a nut :o) shopping list

How to make it
- On The Very Top Of Things:
- Combine the flour,brown sugar in a bowl and quickly combine massage the butter in with your finger tips,then add the truncated drupes...set aside.
- In The Middle:
- Take the poires and dress them in the two tablespoons of sugar,lemon juice,ginger,and freshly grated nutmeg in a bowl by themselves...don't worry,they well feel quite cozy and content right in the middle of things in just a bit.
- Got The Pears Covered...Top And Bottom:
- Combine the flour,baking powder,salt in a bowl,then combine butter and the remaining three fourths cup of sugar.Beat with an electric mixer until well acquainted.Add the eggs,one at a time,beating well after each addition.Beat in vanilla,then alternate toing and froing the flour mixture and milk...beginning and ending with the flour mixture and mixing until just combined.
- Slide about two thirds of the batter in a nine inch springform pan,that has been annotated with 'Baker's Joy'
- Arrange the poire mixture on top,then pour remaining batter over top,spread with a spatula.Some will not be covered.
- Sprinkle the pecan mixture over the top.
- Bake in a three hundred and fifty degree oven for about fifty five minutes or until a tester inserted in the middle comes out clean.Allow to coo in the pan on a cooling rack.Then sift a blanketing of powder sugar over top and serve.
