How to make it

  • On The Very Top Of Things:
  • Combine the flour,brown sugar in a bowl and quickly combine massage the butter in with your finger tips,then add the truncated drupes...set aside.
  • In The Middle:
  • Take the poires and dress them in the two tablespoons of sugar,lemon juice,ginger,and freshly grated nutmeg in a bowl by themselves...don't worry,they well feel quite cozy and content right in the middle of things in just a bit.
  • Got The Pears Covered...Top And Bottom:
  • Combine the flour,baking powder,salt in a bowl,then combine butter and the remaining three fourths cup of sugar.Beat with an electric mixer until well acquainted.Add the eggs,one at a time,beating well after each addition.Beat in vanilla,then alternate toing and froing the flour mixture and milk...beginning and ending with the flour mixture and mixing until just combined.
  • Slide about two thirds of the batter in a nine inch springform pan,that has been annotated with 'Baker's Joy'
  • Arrange the poire mixture on top,then pour remaining batter over top,spread with a spatula.Some will not be covered.
  • Sprinkle the pecan mixture over the top.
  • Bake in a three hundred and fifty degree oven for about fifty five minutes or until a tester inserted in the middle comes out clean.Allow to coo in the pan on a cooling rack.Then sift a blanketing of powder sugar over top and serve.
