How to make it

  • In a large mixing bowl add flour, sugar, oats, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and vanilla and stir together.
  • Cut in butter using a pastry cutter
  • Topping is done when all ingredients are incorporated, and are in small clumps
  • Grease a 9 inch round (or 9x9) baking pan with Crisco or Butter.
  • Add fruit filling that was made 24-48 hours in advance.
  • Pour sugar crisp on top of fruit.
  • Bake 375 deg F for 30 minutes.
