How to make it

  • Add all the ingredients except the rolled brisket,bring to boil,then simmer for a few minutes,turn off heat and allow to completely become cold,put the the brisket in an non metallic container,cover with the cold mixture,weight down the brisket,cover,and leave in fridge for seven days,turning about every day,once ready,rinse and soak overnight in fresh water.Then put beef in a sturdy cooking container with a couple of cut up carrots,onions,a stick of celery,and a few cloves garlic,and one bouquet garni,simmer gently for about three hours.
  • ~ Hot Cranberry Tea...If You Please ~
  • Mix together,and boil gently for about ten minutes,one quart of cranberry juice with one six ounce frozen lemonaide,one six ounce frozen orange juice,one package red hots,one stick of cinnamon,twelve cloves,and two cups sugar,strain and store in the cold,add one cup of mixture to two cups of water and heat through.

  • Apple pie has been prepared with it's bubbling hot center of sugary,appley,goodness as the pie bird is singing away you place a small mound of vanilla brandy flavored snow ice cream atop the peak of your pie piece.

  • 4 eggs,beaten in a bowl with one cup sugar,and two teaspoons homemade vanilla and four cups milk added and beaten severely,stir in one and one half loaves of white bread,cubed,plus six tablespoons drunk raisins,to which you have soaked in bourbon,place mixture in greased pans,and sprinkle tops with one fourth cup sugar each,bake in a three hundred fifty degree oven for thirty minutes,or until the bread pudding has risen to top of pans,meantime you will cream three fourth cup of sugar,three egg yolks,and three tablespoons of fresh country butter in a pan,stir in two tablespoons cornstarch that has been dissolved in one fourth cup water,slowly addd one and one half cups of boiling water,and cook over hot water until thickened,stirring constantly,add the homemade vanilla and a pinch of salt,then remove from heat,serve the bread pudding,topped with warm butter sauce.
