Simple Cherry Pie
From jezzka 9 years agoIngredients
- 1 Pillsbury pie crust (or make your own from scratch) shopping list
- 1 jar sour pitted cherries shopping list
- 1 1/4 c. Sugar shopping list
- 1/3 c. Cornstarch shopping list
How to make it
- Separate cherries from juice; put juice in medium sauce pan. Add sugar and cornstarch to juice and turn on medium heat, stirring occasionally. Once mixture is hot cover for about 1 - 2 minutes. When you remove cover, mixture should be thick. If thick, add cherries. Mix it up.
- Add mixture to pie crust. Add top to pie crust; you can do various styles here: lattice, crumble, fully covered, holes poked into it - whatever you wish.
- Bake at 425° for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 375°; bake 45-50 minutes longer or until crust is golden brown. Cool on a wire rack.
- Wait to eat and ENJOY!
